Salvagetti’s is… oh yeah, it’s a bike shop. And one helluva bike shop as I hear. Admittedly, I go there as a regular for my morning lattes. And there’s no shame in going to the Happy Coffee+Parts bike thru window by foot. For one, I’m absolutely charmed by the staff and No. 2 (which is easily on par with with No.1), I love them Happy lattes! I don’t ask how it is that a bike shop has the upper hand on Denver lattes (they seem to care about everything they do there), I just enjoy. After picking up spices and shortbreads the other day, I decided to wander over to the lesser trod side of Platte Street. To my delight, I discovered Tomte, a sweet little shop vending all things handmade. Run by creatively, professionally and matrimonially collaborative duo, Brett and Crystal, Tomte is a veritable hodgepodge of craft wares including felt coasters, carved wood kitchen utensils, repurposed car part accessories and charming hand-printed greeting cards. I invite anyone finding themselves on the common side of Platte to take a few meter stroll and make a new discovery.
