Dated ranch house updated with color
This is an example of a personality transformation using only color. The owners wanted to give the house a more updated look, but did not wish to put additional money or effort into the facade beyond painting. The two parameters I was given were to make the trim go away and leave the brick untouched. We visually erased the trim and invited the brick into modernity with a single contemporary yet neutral color that pulled from some undertones within the brick. The entire upper portion–carport (incl. underside), soffit, trim–were painted a sleek espresso in eggshell finish. Though not pictured here, stand-alone elements such as the door and patio bench are a bolder, more colorful accent color to punctuate the neutral base palette. Now the home has a simple yet stylish flavor to match it’s inside decor and it’s owners.
