Renovate, revive, reincarnate…
Color is the simplest way to give new life to old objects. It’s easy to default to the idea that improvement necessarily means replacing old with new. Renovation, on the other hand, is the refreshing of or making new from something already in existence. As stewards of this beautiful planet, it’s necessary to employ more creativity and resourcefulness. Of course, reincarnating an old dresser is also a fraction of the cost of replacing it. So, paint a picture frame, a lamp, a flower pot, a chair, bench, table… and watch how your space is instantly enlivened. Remember, color is not just for walls! Check out my articles on natural paints and try your own concoction on an old object. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the effects as well as your own resourcefulness.
